MoForever Winter 2021 | 26 D I VERS I T Y UPDAT E Before joining VMware, Danielle was an associate in MoFo’s IP Litigation practice (2010-2016). She had the opportunity to work on The Blue Ribbon Panel on Transparency, Accountability, and Fairness in Law Enforcement alongside MoFo trial partner Arturo González . Danielle co-led the group of attorneys that investigated stops, searches, and arrests by the San Francisco Police Department, which was assembled by the San Francisco District Attorney in response to reports that several officers had sent numerous racist and homophobic text messages. She worked closely with the group to interview citizens and leaders in the community and review SFPD data and reports on stops, searches, and arrests. Their work resulted in 81 recommendations to the City of San Francisco for policy changes, including use of force and internal and external oversight. In addition, Danielle represented a young Nicaraguan woman, who fled her home country due to the torment and abuse she faced due to her LGBTQ+ status. Danielle worked tirelessly to successfully help her pro bono client obtain asylum in the United States in order for her to build a new life. Danielle was also a member of MoFo’s Black Affinity Group. “The group’s camaraderie was a top highlight of my time at MoFo,” Danielle says. “I regularly connected
