13 | MoForever Winter 2021 UNITED STATES San Francisco Office Jessica Grant joined the firm as a partner in the Class Actions + Mass Torts Practice Group. Jessica is a nationally recognized first chair trial lawyer with substantial class action, product liability, and employment litigation experience, as well as extensive IP litigation experience in complex matters involving patent, copyright infringement, and trademark issues. Jessica has extraordinary first- chair trial experience, including successfully trying three cases over $100 million and two cases over half a billion dollars. Jessica also has significant experience negotiating settlements, including prior to litigation. (J.D., 1995, University of San Francisco School of Law) Alex Yap rejoined the firm as a partner in the Intellectual Property Litigation Group and is co-head of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) Litigation Group. Alex comes to Morrison & Foerster from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in San Jose, where he served as an administrative patent law judge for almost four years and presided over more than 200 ex parte appeals, inter partes reviews, and covered business method patent proceedings. Shalet joined the firm as a partner in the global Private Funds Group. Leonora counsels investment funds in connection with their structuring, formation, and ongoing operational needs, as well as on general securities law matters and regulatory and compliance issues. Leonora’s practice focuses on U.S. and offshore credit funds, private equity funds, funds of funds, hybrid funds, hedge funds, and managed accounts. She has particularly deep experience working with credit funds and managers.
