MoForever Alumni News Winter 2021
9 | MoForever Winter 2021 way to provide the most effective, customized, thoughtful, and creative legal advice. How did MoFo help prepare you for the challenges you face today? MoFo prepared me to be thrown into the fire almost every day at Zipline. MoFo throws down the gauntlet, trusting that you can raise the right issues when needed. As a second- year associate, Paul Jahn gave me the privilege of taking a lead role in the T-Mobile/Sprint merger from a technology transactions perspective. I got to markup merger agreements, draft contracts from scratch, and work directly with clients. I had my own pro bono clients as a second- year associate. My friends in Big Law firms at the time were performing fundamentally different tasks at that time. And ultimately it just taught me to be comfortable with feeling uncomfortable. What keeps you up at night? The “all” in our mission to build an autonomous instant delivery system that serves all humans equally. For me, it’s about scaling operations in a responsible and sustainable manner. It’s about allowing people all over the world to take advantage of automated drone delivery and to participate in marketplaces that they couldn’t otherwise be in. In Ghana, we serve 80% of the population from four distribution centers. When we gain that scale across the globe, it’ll be unbelievable and I’m excited to see it. We have a saying at Zipline that I think came from U2 front man and Zipline board member, Bono: “Where you live should never decide whether you live.” That is at the core of our mission. We have a ton of hard work and tough challenges ahead but continuing to grow with this legal team is going to be fun.
