The Morrison & Foerster Foundation 2020 Report
THE MORRISON & FOERSTER FOUNDATION $29,090 King Baudouin Foundation United States Brussels Programs New York, New York KBFUS is a leading resource for philanthropic giving by U.S. donors to charities in Europe and Africa. Our donation replenished our donor-advised fund at KBFUS, which subsequently made charitable contributions to organizations serving people in Brussels. Infirmiers de rue (“Street Nurses”) is one of the organizations supported in 2020 by our donor- advised fund at KBFUS. The gift by KBFUS, made in April 2020, helped support Infirmiers de rue’s team-based response to the developing COVID-19 crisis in Brussels as it affected unhoused people, who were particularly vulnerable to the virus. In London, the firm has had its own charitable giving program since 2006. For tax and charitable giving reasons, it operates separately from the Foundation, though its focus, guidelines, and level of partner support are consistent with those of the Foundation. In 2020, donations by Morrison & Foerster’s London charitable giving program were £93,200, or approximately $127,596. In addition, the Foundation donated nearly $13,000 to KBFUS for the benefit of a London charity. In Berlin, the firm has a charitable giving program modeled after its program in London. Donations made by the Berlin program in 2020 to German nonprofit organizations totaled €60,218, or approximately $73,538. The following are samples of 2020 grants in these three regions, though the Berlin and London examples are not part of this report’s financial discussion because they were not made by the Foundation.
