THE MORRISON & FOERSTER FOUNDATION $10,000 Foster & Adoptive Parent Advocacy Center Washington, D.C. FAPAC is a grassroots organization founded in 2000 to address the lack of inclusion of Washington, D.C.’s foster, kinship, and adoptive parents in policy-level discussions of child welfare reform. It has become a critical stakeholder committed to ensuring that children find stability and permanency with loving parents who are prepared and supported to meet the special needs of those who have experienced abuse and neglect. $5,000 YES Nature to Neighborhoods Richmond, California YES was founded on the belief that positive experiences in nature are a catalyst for individual and community transformation. Its culturally relevant programs increase access and break down barriers for Richmond youth and families historically excluded from appreciating nature outdoors. Its model includes leadership programs that move participants along a continuum of development to become successful community leaders, health advocates, and change-makers. $3,000 Let’s Get Ready New York, New York Based in New York City, Let’s Get Ready engages volunteer college students to provide high school students from historically underserved communities and first-generation college students with free SAT preparation, admissions counseling, and other support services needed to gain admission to and graduate from college.
