2020 M&A Annual Review
Morrison & Foerster advised MobileIron, Inc. (Nasdaq:MOBL), the mobile-centric security platform for the Everywhere Enterprise, on its sale for approximately $900 million to Ivanti, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise-grade intelligent IT management and security software solutions, which is backed by Clearlake Capital Group, L.P. and TA Associates Management, LP. MobileIron’s platform combines award-winning and industry-leading unified endpoint management (UEM) capabilities with password-less multi-factor authentication (Zero Sign-On) and mobile threat defense (MTD) to validate the device, establish user context, verify the network, and detect and remediate threats to ensure that only authorized users, devices, apps, and services can access business resources in a “work from everywhere” world. The combined company’s solutions extend to all devices, making Ivanti the leading provider of UEM, Enterprise Service Management (ESM), and Zero Trust security solutions— and the only company on the market that provides end-to-end coverage. Previously in 2020, a German and U.S. Morrison & Foerster team advised MobileIron on the acquisition of incapptic Connect GmbH, a leader in mobile app release automation software based in Berlin, Germany, and Warsaw, Poland, which added a series of products to the company’s portfolio enabling the company’s customers to efficiently develop and distribute customized mobile apps at scale rapidly. Morrison & Foerster is ranked Band 1 for California IT & Outsourcing: Transactions. Chambers USA 2020 Morrison & Foerster is recognized for Technology Transactions. Legal 500 2020 MOBILEIRON
