In January 2018, the firm settled a case it had brought under the Motor Voter law, reaching an agreement that will allow the million-plus Californians who renew their driver’s license or state identification by mail each year to easily register to vote or update their registration. MoFo partner Michael Jacobs served as lead counsel for the case, along with co- counsel from Demos, the ACLU Voting Rights Project, and the ACLU Foundation of Northern California.
